Gum Treatments

Healthy gums are the foundation of a healthy smile. Whether you need ongoing periodontal maintenance or specialized treatment for gum recession and other concerns, we focus on preserving your oral health and comfort.

Periodontal Maintenance

Periodontal maintenance is a specialized cleaning designed for patients with a history of gum disease. These visits help remove bacteria and plaque below the gumline while supporting long-term gum health and preventing disease progression.

Soft-Tissue Gum Grafts

Free Gingival Grafts (FGG) or Connective Tissue Grafts (CTG) are used to treat gum recession and protect exposed tooth roots. FGG is mainly used to help thicken the gingiva and keratinized tissue to help stop the progression of recession. CTG is a method used for covering exposed root surfaces that result from gingival recession in areas prone to cold and touch sensitivity.

Gingivectomy

A surgical procedure that removes/reshapes excess or overgrown gum tissue for both deep gingival pockets or cosmetic concerns. Can be treated with either a scalpel or a laser. Benefits of using lasers include reduced bleeding, minimizing pain, not requiring sutures, and increasing healing rates.

Frenectomy

Minor surgical procedure to remove or modify the frenum, a small, tight band of tissue connecting the lips to the gingiva (labial) or the tongue to the floor of the mouth (tongue tie). This treatment can improve oral function, jaw pain, speech, breastfeeding, or orthodontic outcomes.

Restoring Teeth

Our restorative treatments are designed to repair teeth, relieve discomfort, and restore strength using modern techniques and durable materials. We take a conservative approach whenever possible to help preserve your natural tooth structure and support long-term oral health.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Tooth-colored fillings repair cavities and minor tooth damage while blending naturally with your smile. Made from durable composite materials, they restore strength and appearance without the noticeable look of metal fillings.

Silver Diamine Fluoride

Silver diamine fluoride is a non-invasive treatment that helps slow or stop the progression of tooth decay. It is often used for young children, patients with special healthcare needs, or those seeking an alternative to traditional restorative treatment.

Same-Day CEREC® Crowns

Custom-fitted caps made of zirconia or porcelain are used to restore teeth that present with large decay or are broken, fractured, worn down, or have had previous root canals. At Chief Dental, we use CEREC crowns designed, milled, and placed in a single same-day appointment, eliminating wait times and the need for temporary crowns.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy removes infected or damaged tissue from inside a tooth to relieve discomfort and preserve the natural tooth structure. After treatment, the tooth is restored to help maintain its strength and function.

Replacing Missing Teeth

Missing teeth can impact your confidence, bite, and overall quality of life. From traditional restorations to advanced implant solutions, we'll help you find the option that best fits your goals and lifestyle.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges replace one or more missing teeth by filling the gap with a custom restoration supported by neighboring teeth or implants. They help restore your smile, chewing ability, and overall oral function.

Full & Partial Dentures

Full and partial dentures are removable restorations designed to replace missing teeth and restore everyday function. Modern dentures are custom-made for improved comfort, appearance, and confidence.

Dental Implants

Dental implants replace missing tooth roots with small titanium posts that support custom restorations. They provide a stable, long-lasting solution that looks, feels, and functions much like natural teeth.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures combine the affordability of dentures with the stability of dental implants. By anchoring the denture to implants, this option can improve comfort, chewing power, and overall confidence.

Oral Surgery

When more advanced treatment is needed, our oral surgery services provide effective solutions in a comfortable and supportive environment. Whether addressing damaged teeth, impacted wisdom teeth, or preparing for future restorative care, we use modern technology and careful treatment planning to help ensure predictable, successful outcomes.

Dental Extractions

When a tooth is severely damaged, infected, or unable to be restored, an extraction may be recommended. Our team prioritizes patient comfort and will discuss replacement options when appropriate.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom teeth removal is often recommended when these third molars become impacted, crowded, or threaten the health of surrounding teeth. Removing problematic wisdom teeth can help prevent future discomfort and oral health complications.

Bone Graft Procedures

Bone grafting helps rebuild or preserve jawbone that has been lost due to missing teeth, gum disease, or other factors. This procedure is commonly performed to create a stronger foundation for future dental implants and long-term oral health.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

  • What's the difference between bridges, implants, and dentures?

Bridges, implants, and dentures all replace missing teeth, but they do so in different ways. Bridges are anchored to neighboring teeth, implants are secured directly into the jawbone, and dentures are removable restorations that replace multiple teeth or entire arches. During your consultation, we'll discuss the benefits of each option and recommend the one that best fits your needs.

  • How will I know if my tooth can be repaired or if it needs to be replaced?

The answer depends on the amount of healthy tooth structure that remains. In many cases, damaged teeth can be restored with conservative treatment, but severely compromised teeth may require extraction and replacement. We use a thorough examination, digital imaging, and clinical evaluation to determine the most predictable long-term solution for your oral health.

  • What does a restorative consultation involve?

A restorative consultation is an opportunity for us to evaluate your oral health, discuss your concerns, and review potential treatment options. We may take digital X-rays, photographs, or other diagnostic images to better understand your needs. After gathering information, we'll explain our findings, answer your questions, and create a personalized treatment plan designed around your goals and budget.
