Same Day Crowns (CEREC)

What is a crown?  

Also referred to as “caps”, crowns are a custom made covering that is cemented to the tooth and colour matched to your natural teeth.

Why would my tooth need a crown?

Crowns improve structural strength and function of the tooth. Teeth can become broken, fractured, worn down, or be present with large decay. The crown covers the tooth, protecting it from further wear or breakage. Back teeth that have had root canals can break easily and should be protected with a crown.

How long does it take to get a crown?

At Chief Dental we use CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) crowns designed, milled and placed in a single, same day appointment. This eliminates wait times and need for temporary crowns.

What materials are crowns made from?

Zirconia is preferred for back teeth due to it’s strength and esthetic appear. Lithium disilicate (porcelain) provides a beautiful restoration that seamlessly blends with your natural teeth.
